Artist Statement

I received my BFA from the University of Michigan, with a major in painting and graphic design. During my college years, I spent a summer living in Italy, immersed in Renaissance art and culture, studying art history. After college, I returned home and sold my paintings, while beginning my career in Visual Merchandising. Several of my watercolors were included in a touring exhibit in conjunction with the Los Angeles Olympics.

Although I was raised in New York, I currently reside in Southern California, where my obsession with ceramics began. Each piece presents a whole new challenge in what seems to be a never ending search for perfection. In addition to reinvigorating my passion for art, many of my pieces reflect my love of birds, which have always been a part of my home life.

Each piece is unique, hand thrown on the wheel, sculpted, glazed and signed by hand. No two pieces are the same, as I allow each piece to evolve during production. I hope that you will enjoy my work as much as I enjoy making it. Every piece is dishwasher and microwave safe and may be used for food consumption, unless otherwise noted, (although I do not suggest putting delicate pieces in the dishwasher.) Please feel free to express your thoughts or comments on the "Guestbook" page or speak to me directly on the "Contact" page, where I am available to answer any of your questions.
